This is the last (official) day of your 11-day Capybara family adventure. In our small bus, we drive about 45 min to the nearby town of Juliaca where we jump on a plane back to Lima.
Lima
In Lima, our local guide Nilton (Excursions Lima and Surroundings) picks us up and takes us on a city tour.
About 8 million people live in Lima, a lot of migration happened from the highlands during the time of conflict between government forces and the Maoistic Terror Organization “Shining Path”.

We enjoyed an excellent lunch at Gaston Accurio's restaurant.
San Francisco Monastery
The earthquake-safe catacombs contain an estimated 70,000 burials. Until 1803, the catacombs were the only cemetery in Lima.
Monks sorted the bones of approx. 25,000 people by femur, tibia, skulls, etc.
Nil takes us back to Miraflores for a quiet evening.
